Dr. Russo and Family

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This past weekend, Dr. Russo, along with other “stars” in the Baton Rouge area, performed as part of a fundraising effort for the Big Buddy organization. Since 1979, Big Buddy has been committed to empowering and guiding underprivileged youth with the support of our local community. The Dancing for Big Buddy annual event helps support these programs through an evening of “Dancing With the Stars” style entertainment.

Dr. Russo was pleased to have the opportunity to support this incredible organization as one of the dancers in this year’s event. She has a charitable nature and has long supported worthy causes throughout the Baton Rouge area. In addition to Dancing for Big Buddy, she has offered her time and resources to other groups such as Girls on the Run, Race for a Cure, and MDA. For this particular event, Dr. Russo was excited to put her dancing shoes back on, after having danced for most of her youth.

For Dancing for Big Buddy, she partnered with professional dance instructor, Dr. Le’Brian Patrick, of The Dancers’ Workshop to perform the Paso Doble. The two gave their all to this lively, traditional couple’s dance from Spain. Noise meters were in place to gage the crowd’s response to each couple. Dr. Russo and Dr. Patrick were the first couple to perform and remained crowd favorites throughout the event.

Big Buddy will continue to have a positive impact on the lives of many local youths, and it will continue to hold a special place for Dr. Russo.
