Meet Aimee Russo-Mounger, DDS

Dr. Aimee Russo-Mounger was born in New Roads, LA. She attended the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans and graduated with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. Dr. Russo is interested in helping her patients to have a beautiful smile that is both functional and healthy. Passionate about the latest advancements in dentistry, she collaborates with other dentists around the world every three months in a master mind group.

She regularly goes over and above the required hours of continuing education, staying on top of the latest developments in the field of dentistry. In addition to traditional dentistry, Dr. Russo is one of the top providers of Invisalign in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. She provides Invisalign orthodontic therapy to help patients function and breath better, as well as have beautiful, straight teeth. She is also one of only a few dentists who treat Sleep apnea conditions, often alleviating the need for use of a CPAP machine! Many patients benefit from switching to an oral appliance for sleep apnea because they are much more comfortable and easier to sleep with, ensuring a better night’s sleep. Dr. Russo-Mounger also offers Botox-like relaxants and facial fillers to enhance a patient’s beautiful smile.

She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, The Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and the American Academy of Clear Aligners. Dr. Russo serves as a community leader with the Cangelosi Dance Project, The Big Buddy program, Dancing with a Cause in Ascension Parish, and the Susan G. Komen cancer foundation.

More About Dr. Russo-Mounger

In 2004, Dr. Russo was the first dentist in Baton Rouge to open a Dental Spa. At The Smile Spa, the team incorporates complementary spa amenities or all patients at every visit. The goal is to make every dental experience more comfortable, and enjoyable, than ever thought possible. In 2017 Dr. Russo became the first practice in the Baton Rouge metropolitan area to add a licensed laser aesthetician, so that each beautiful smile she created was complimented by beautiful skin.

Family

Dr. Russo is very close to her family. Her Mom, Patsy, began working at The Smile Spa after she retired from the Pointe Coupee School board. She still comes in sporadically to help out when she is not playing with all her grandchildren. Her Father is a retired Pharmacist that still does some relief work. Both parents, along with her and her two siblings, are very loving, christian, and hard-working.

Dr. Russo’s brother, Michael, works in the Baton Rouge City Police Department, Motors Division.

When she is not making people’s smiles fabulous, Dr. Russo and her husband, Marcus, and their two sons, Spencer and Scout, enjoy spending time on their boat and at the beach. They also love snow skiing and traveling to see new places and new adventures. She also enjoys returning to her first love, dance. She performs in many local events and fundraising performances, as well as just for fun. She is pictured above as the 2018 Judge’s Choice Dance Winner for Dancing for a Cause, a fundraiser to benefit The Arc of Ascension.
