Straightening Smiles with Clear Aligners in Baton Rouge

You may be putting off straightening your smile for a variety of reasons including time commitments, budget, comfort, and aesthetics. However, while a crooked smile may cause confidence issues, it can also cause functional issues like an uneven bite, jaw pain, tooth pressure, and lessened chewing abilities. Many think that traditional steel braces are the only way to straighten crooked teeth. However, our office offers Invisalign clear aligners that have reduced wear time, seamless looks, and custom fits.

Invisalign Aligners

With Invisalign, you will often go through a similar process as getting fitted with traditional steel braces, but with more comfort and less time. Generally, you will meet with your dentist in order to begin exploring whether you are a candidate for Invisalign.

You will then have a fitting consultation, where your mouth will be measured and digital scans will be taken to ensure a seamless fit. From there, you will be scheduled for an installation appointment to ensure that the newly created Invisalign trays fit well, and will then be given a schedule on when to change tray sizes.

Benefits of Invisalign

The benefits of Invisalign include:

  • Aesthetics: While steel braces are very visible, Invisalign aligners are clear. This means that you can wear your Invisalign aligners during the day and in public without people noticing.
  • Fit: Steel braces can warp, crack, or bend, causing sores and pressure points inside the mouth and on the gums. Invisalign retainers can be custom fit and shaped to your mouth, easing the risk of pain or pressure.
  • Function: While traditional braces are unmovable due to being glued in place, Invisalign retainers can quickly be removed for ease in eating, chewing, drinking, and cleaning.
